Glossary
Plain-English definitions of the words used across Adam AI.
Agent. A sandboxed worker that carries out a task using skills and tools, under a session issued by the Security layer. Agents never hold standing access.
Architect. The Adam AI module that keeps every layer swappable. See Architect.
Box. The Adam AI appliance running on a customer's premises or in their chosen cloud. The customer owns it.
Build. A unit of agent work created in My Builds: a proposal, a shadow period, evaluations, approvals, then live.
Canary. Rolling a live build out to 10, 25, 50 then 100 percent of eligible work, with the ability to stop at any step.
Catalogue. The shared list of skills, tools and integrations a box can draw on. Slugs are lowercase-kebab.
Fleet. All the boxes we operate for customers. Contributions flow up only through the security-gated harvest inbox.
Marking. A label attached to data that states who may hold it. Enforced on every read, inherited by anything derived. See People layer.
Model gateway. The single place every model request passes through, so a model can be swapped without touching an agent.
Outcome. The business result a piece of work is for. Delivery starts here and reverses to where you are now.
Quarantine. A live build pulled back automatically when a reviewer marks its work wrong. It must re-pass the gates to return.
Session. A time-limited, least-privilege grant of access for one task, recorded in full.
Shadow. A build running alongside people without acting, so its answers can be reviewed before it goes live.
Skill. A packaged, reusable capability an agent can use. Adam AI ships 1,000+.
Wingman. The in-app assistant that sits beside each member of staff and proposes builds from what it sees.
