Adam AI documentation
What Adam AI is, how the documentation is organised, and the three access tiers.
Adam AI is a private, agentic AI platform that runs on hardware you own. It gives a company a digital workforce: agents that do real work inside the systems the business already runs, under controls the business sets, on models the business chooses.
Don't rent intelligence. Own it.
How the documentation is organised
Everything here hangs off six layers. Each layer has one page describing what it is for, what it contains, what it must never do, and how it talks to the layers above and below.
Read The six layers first if you want the whole picture on one page.
Three access tiers
| Tier | Who | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Anyone | What the platform is, how the layers fit, the vocabulary, the promises we make. |
| Client | Signed-in portal users | Guides for owners, managers and staff of a company running Adam AI: the portal, Wingman, Markings, outcome-led delivery. |
| Engineer | Adam AI and partner engineers | Stack, deploy, invariants, the Markings engine, release gates, and how to write these docs. |
Locked pages still show in the navigation so you can see what exists. Sign in to the customer portal to read client pages; engineer pages need a staff sign-in.
Where Adam AI came from
Adam AI was built inside an IT services business that could not find a client-centric AI platform for its customers. Everything on the market asked them to trade data sovereignty, or accept vendor lock-in, for the tooling. It was always a huge compromise. So the platform was built to the standard that business wanted for its own clients, and that business will shortly become just another customer.
